1. Who We Are

BiblioGo is a personal library management mobile app. The data controller is the BiblioGo team, reachable at: app.bibliogo@gmail.com.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following data:

Email address and password (at sign-up)
Username and profile picture (optional)
Personal library: books added, statuses, ratings, tags, shelves
Friend code (automatically generated)
Cover images uploaded by the user
Anonymized usage data (reading statistics)

3. Purpose of Processing

Your data is used to:

Provide and improve the app's features
Enable sharing between friends
Sync your library across devices
Generate your personal reading statistics
Ensure security and prevent abuse

4. Legal Basis

The processing of your data is based on your consent given when creating your account, as well as on the performance of the contract (provision of the service).

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. Your data may be shared with the following services:

Supabase: secure hosting and authentication
Your friends on BiblioGo, limited to what you choose to make visible
DeepL SE (Germany): book category names are sent to the DeepL API for automatic translation. No personal data is transmitted.
Google LLC (Google Books API, United States): book searches may be transmitted to enrich search results.
ISBNDB: scanned ISBN codes are transmitted to retrieve book information.
RevenueCat Inc. (United States): Premium subscription management is handled by RevenueCat. RevenueCat collects your anonymous user identifier and subscription information.
Google LLC (Google Fonts, United States): the app uses Google Fonts, which may load fonts from Google's servers on first launch.

No data is transferred for advertising purposes.

6. Locally Stored Data

Certain preferences (color theme, display view, status badges) are stored locally on your device via SharedPreferences. This data is never transmitted to our servers or to third parties. It is automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled or your account is deleted.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. If your account is deleted, all your personal data is permanently and immediately erased.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

10. Cookies and Trackers

BiblioGo does not use advertising cookies. Technical session data is used solely to support authentication.

11. Changes

We may update this policy at any time. In the event of a material change, you will be notified within the app. Continued use of BiblioGo after notification constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
